Wanderlust

A great video by Thinklab that captures their travels through South America, Europe, and New Zealand. This makes me want to empty my bank account, buy some plane tickets, charge my camera and start a walkabout.

Benjamin Lacombe makes it pop

Benjamin Lacombe is a talented illustrator from Paris who creates really interesting fable/character based pieces. I originally saw his work for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and just this week came across this video on vimeo. Seeing his previously static work now animated and translated into 3D is just awesome! The addition of  fully animated characters really brings his work to life and keeps the walk through interesting.

My only gripe (Insert fog horn noise): Video is a tough medium to show a normally hands on experience like a pop-up book.  There is a lot of the real tactile experience that’s being lost. It does make me want to buy this thing and start opening and closing each spread to see how it functions. So mission accomplished marketing team, you got me.
