Karlo Ghokasian

Karlo Ghokasian is a multi-talented artist from Toronto. His work is crass, perverse, and, well…really f’ing funny. His artists statement says it all:

Most people go to university to become fancy doctors and sexy lawyers. You know, real important type careers. I on the other hand spent 4 years drawing vaginas. So, why have I chosen to be an illustrator? Well, I’m not in it for the money. I do it to impress women.

Jess Atkinson

Jess is a recent design grad of Toronto based York University & Sheridan College. Like many portfolios from recent grads, her work contains mostly conceptual and experimental pieces. Jess’s work stood out for me, though, because of how uniquely personal and fun she makes each piece feel. I also like how she photographs her work in an everyday, but contextually appropriate environment. It gives me the impression that she’s enthusiastic and thoughtful about her work, but doesn’t take herself too seriously.
