Dimitris Ladopoulos is a director from Athens Greece who is working on a short film series showcasing art & science professionals working with their hands. I always love seeing people working with their hands to make amazing things and look forward to seeing more from this series. The tracking effect is very slick and definitely makes my inner motion graphics nerd very happy.

This animated short is directed and created by four obviously talented students at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands. I truly appreciate the cinematic techniques used and the way they edited it. The speed, style and imagination of this is inspiring and really fun to watch. There is a nice balance of traditional looking and computer assisted 3D animation.

Father and Daughter is a beautiful, depressing and incredibly sparse short film by Dutch filmmaker Michaël Dudok De Wit. It won an Academy award in 2000 but somehow I’ve missed it for the past eight years. Had a chance to take it in this morning and wanted to share with everyone who hasn’t yet seen it. Enjoy!
