I really love these simple yet stunning experimental posters from Australian graphic design studio Motherbird. Wish I could get one for my living room!

More than decent print & packaging work from Australian agency Mash. I don’t particularly like vodka, but it’s become clear to me that I need to design a bottle before I hang my hat with design. This is just about as sexy as they come in terms of packaging…

Julie Rrap is a practicing contemporary artist out of Lismore, Australia. I can’t find much on her work outside of a steady string of exhibitions at the Roslyn Oxley 9 gallery in Sydney. You can find 15+ years of her exhibit work on the gallery website, which is awesome because you can see how her aesthetic and technique has progressed over time. She never strays to far thematically, but that makes browsing the timeline of her work all the more interesting I think.

Whew. What a great time we had at the Alt Summit this weekend. I promise to post my two cents and some snapshots of the conference asap. In the meantime, check out the work of Australia based studio 21-19. It’s hard to find a design firm that can strike such a balance between print & motion design. Here is a self-promo motion piece they put together:
More print work after the jump!

I love Yok. This Australian’s dreamy, droopy, darkly funny work had me at first glance. Check out Yok’s portfolio for a plethora of pieces spanning graffiti, mixed media and paintings.

Is this the week of artists with really badass sounding names? I think so. Jack Pam is a West Australian photographer + filmmaker that gets down worldwide, shooting his stark work in Berlin, the states, Prague + his native Australia. He’s also co-founder of Staple Magazine, a really decent color skateboard/photo magazine on its 3rd issue.

Jacob Ring shoots straight-up 35mm on his old Nikon f4. He likes his double exposures + so do I. Photos from Australia, Japan + Thailand.
