When a company that you believe in comes out with a bunch of cool shit, it’s a good day.
Poler is just that.
In their own words:
POLER makes sleeping bags, tents, and bags that don’t require hundreds of buckles, shiny plastic do-dads everywhere, and enough velcro to choke a camel. Poler Camping Stuff is simple, good looking gear for people that are travelers, couch surfers, regular surfers, skateboarders, snowboarders, parents, kids, car campers and anyone else looking for something that looks good is a good value and is all about having fun on the road and in the outdoors.

AND! Now they sell their rad shirts.
GO SPEND SOME MONEY AND CAMP OUT.
Happy Monday friends. Read the rest of this entry »

Amy Earles makes things, working mostly in gouache and pencil.
I found her amazing paper dolls a few weeks ago and have since begun obsessing about how rad it would be for her to paint my daughter’s portrait. Her style is innocent but at the same time has a whiff of darkness to it, not unlike the best German fairytales.
Go buy her awesome art on etsy.

Hello friends.
Yes. Holiday season is upon us, and the gift opportunities are, as usual, endless.
But you know what you really all want on your desk, in your pocket, on your windowsill and above your rearview mirror. AMIGURUMI!!!!
If you don’t know about this awesome ‘movement,’ read up on it here.
Otherwise, enjoy the creatures above.
1. han and leila forever.
2. the cutest narwhal in the world.
3. owls are wise.
4. gnomes are people, too.
5. give peas a chance.
6. petunia, the tree stump.

A PIXEL ART GENERATOR app! I think this is rad. What better way than to begin your Monday than creating some pixel love?

My wife showed me this project a few weeks ago and it’s gotten a ton of press since then, but it’s such a great example of how a little bit of creativity can change the world we live in. If you don’t know anything about David Rockwell’s Imagination Playground, please do yourself a favor and check it out.

I saw the title of this on Vimeo and first thought it was going to be a “Starwars Kid” type video of some dude, bored, playing with his beloved childhood toy in his mom’s basement. Half of that is true. Patrick Boivin is talented stop motion animator who created this well thought out short film showing what life would be like with a pet At-At. Totally cool concept and very well executed. I mean, even “Jabba the Poo” makes an appearance! Check out his other awesome stop motion work on Vimeo. And yes, he has a Michael Jackson vs. Mr. Bean dance off video. Shamone!
