Check out this awesome poster/identity my friend Jaime Van Wart did for Tasty Beverage Co. I’ve posted about Jaime’s A Letter A Day project before, so you might remember her. She’s my custom typography inspiration.

I am really in love with the work of Rhode Island based jewelery artist Amie Plante. Amie uses metal to recreate natural shapes and the results are always beautiful. On her website she organizes her jewelery based on what it was inspired by, which is a pretty neat idea. You can check out more of Amie’s work on her website or her etsy.

I’m intrigued by the illustrations of Toronto-based artist Tara Dougans. I really like the bizarre hairstyles. You can check out some more of her work on her website or flickr.

Do you guys remember Nike IDs? Keds just jumped on the bandwagon, and now on their website you can customize your shoes, and even upload your own images. And they’re only $60 a pop, which is kind of awesome. Thanks Keds!

So, maybe you guys have noticed that I haven’t been posting very much lately. It’s because I decided to knit scarves for  my family for Christmas, and it’s very time consuming. And of course I picked patterns that are probably too difficult for someone who is barely past knitting 101, so it’s been a bit frustrating as well. Anyways, I thought I’d share some of my knitting inspiration for my fellow grandmas in training out there. My friend Lena Bondar makes beautiful things. On top of being a talented designer, she also makes gorgeous felted accessories available in her Etsy shop, Odds & Ends. I’m not exactly sure how felting works, but I’m into it!

This morning I was perusing Etsy and I came across some interesting illustrations by Retro Whale. There are some cool prints, cards and t-shirts in their Etsy shop.

Retro Whale describes their work as “inspired by everything but especially 70’s and 80’s design, rap lyrics, animals, and oddities.”
