giveawayheader.jpg

Look over there! In the right sidebar. We’ve launched a hotline + voicemail system where you fine readers can call in and speak your mind.  Because sadly, the internet doesn’t allow for inflection. Every Friday, we’ll post the week’s messages in the player and create + post a new topic for the coming week for you folks to respond to. There are a handful of messages already in the player, so you can get a taste of the things to come. Real human voices! Yessss.

To get this party started, we’re hosting our biggest giveaway yet! With fifteen total winners. We’ve teamed up with some of our favorite artists who’ve donated their goods to kick this thing off!

Here’s the deal: Call us at 1-866-556-9432 and be sure to leave your first name and last initial. Comment on this post with the same info (so we can find you when you win!) Entries are open until next Sunday night (7/5) at 11:59pm. We’ll choose our 15 winners randomly and announce them the following Monday (7/6).  This week’s topic?  Let’s keep it simple: Which one of the 15 prizes do you want to get your hands on?

Onto the goodies…

Everything in Portland designer Gavin Potenza’s portfolio is great but this burst of color in his original stamp designs really caught my eye. potenza-okgreat2.jpgpotenza-okgreat1.jpg

Today is Take Your Dog To Work Day! Mingus & Asa are here today to celebrate. I think we have the luckiest pups since they always get to come to work with us! You can read about Dottie’s day on phetched or you can check out some cute pictures of our doggies on our flickr.

Peregrine Honig

I love Peregrine Honig’s series of paintings titled “Exposed” featuring stuffed animals coupled with pop culture news headlines. Her work largely deals with issues of being a girl, and then a woman, in contemporary society. What I love about her work, and why I think it succeeds in it’s intent, is how deceptively simple it is. It’s incredibly accessible, but exhibits an incredible amount of complexion and depth upon further examination. PLUS… it’s often very funny.

See more of her work after the jump…

our work: chp brochure

We just got our first fluorescent job ever back from the printer!

4.jpg

It’s a brochure for the Health Policy Certificate Program at Duke. Using a fluorescent ink is tough because you can’t know for sure how it’s going to look until it’s printed, but luckily our clients were really great and put their trust in us. And the piece turned out great! These photos don’t really do justice to how bright the fluorescent is, but you can use your imagination.

…will rock your face off. That’s what her drawings did to me anyway. Then, upon further digging, I find a sculpture installation she did based on her drawings. How cool is this!?
