Makin' Paper
Anyone who’s tried working with paper before understands the difficulty of shaping it into something that even slightly resembles what you intended.
I know I do. Remember the paper sandwich?
So this morning when I received a press release about a Scion art show at their LA Gallery, Installation L.A. called “Papershapers”, my interest was peaked. Curated by Giant Robot, the show runs from April 11 until May 2nd and features ten artists including Polly Verity (who we’ve blogged about before), Peter Calleson and master paper artist Shin Tanaka who will be making a rare U.S. appearance on opening night and will be on hand to show original pieces and fold paper with attendees. Awesome.
So if there are any LA readers out there, be sure to get your asses out to Culver City this month for the paperstraveganza.
Find all the juicy details here and watch the promotional paper-video here.

Wow — that skeletal hand is a genius move worthy of Duchamp, Magritte or Dali!
Shin, would you make me a paper representation of my hometown? Amazing work.
